Equipment

  • Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 12 slices pepperoni (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 350°F.
  • Slice the French bread in half to fit into the air fryer. Then, slice each piece in half through the length.
  • In a small bowl, mix together pizza sauce, dried oregano, and garlic powder. Spread each piece evenly with the pizza sauce.
  • Cover the top with shredded mozzarella cheese. Add the pepperoni slices or any other desired toppings evenly on the pizza.
  • Place the prepared French bread pizzas in the preheated air fryer basket. Air fry for 5-8 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Keep an eye on it to avoid overcooking. You may need to work in batches to ensure even cooking.
  • Carefully remove the French bread pizzas from the air fryer using tongs or a spatula. Let the pizzas cool for a minute before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • To store: Air fryer pizzas are best enjoyed after cooking, as their crust will be crispiest. Should you have leftovers, you can store them in an airtight container after they cool down. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
  • To reheat: Place pizza in a pre-heated 350°F air fryer for 2-3 minutes, or until heated throughout.
  • Monitor Cooking Time: Keep a close eye on the French bread pizzas while they're in the air fryer, as cooking times can vary. Check them periodically starting around the 5-minute mark to ensure the cheese is melted to your liking without becoming overly crispy.
  • Prevent Sogginess: To avoid a soggy crust, consider toasting the sliced French bread in the air fryer for 1-2 minutes before adding the sauce and toppings. This extra step helps to create a barrier that prevents the bread from becoming too soft due to the moisture from the sauce.
