Crock Pot Baked Ziti

This Crock Pot Baked Ziti is an easy and delicious weeknight dinner. It's a great way to use up leftover pasta, and it's perfect for feeding a large crowd. The best part is that it only takes about 10 minutes to prep, and the crockpot does all the work for you!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 (24-ounce) jar marinara sauce (we like Rao's)
  • 1 (28-ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 2 ½ cups beef broth
  • 16 ounces dried ziti pasta noodles
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • Chopped Italian parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and drain any excess grease.
  • Add the onions, garlic, salt, and Italian seasoning and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
  • Transfer the ground beef to the crockpot and add the pasta sauce, diced tomatoes, and broth.
  • Stir to combine before covering and cook on low for 5 hours or high for 3 hours.
  • During the last hour, switch the crockpot to high (if it’s not already there) and add the uncooked ziti pasta noodles, stir to combine, cover, and cook for an additional 30 minutes.
  • Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on top, cover and cook until the cheese has melted, about 10-15 minutes.
  • Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Storage: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-5 days.
